Mimi Thorisson

MIMI THORISSON has spent most of her life immersed in different cultures. Half French and half Chinese, she grew up in Hong Kong and studied in Paris and London. With a background in business and fashion she speaks 5 languages.

Mimi has always been a keen traveler and enjoys exploring different civilisations . In 2011, she moved to the French countryside, outside Bordeaux in the Médoc, with her young family that soon grew to 8 children, and spent the following years developing her passion for seasonal, product based cooking, growing her own vegetables and raising her burgeoning brood with her Icelandic photographer husband.

During this time Mimi hosted three seasons of the cooking series 'La Table de Mimi' on Canal+. She has written three international best-selling cookbooks, two on French cuisine and a recently published book on traditional and regional Italian recipes 'Old world Italian'She lives in Torino with her family and is currently working on a fourth cookbook.

While Mimi has built a successful career in food writing and lifestyle she has been a keen observer of fashion from a young age and a natural aesthete.

Always on the lookout for the perfect dress or the right pair of sandals she was delighted to collaborate on the creation of the perfect pair with Ilio Smeraldo.

'I was always searching for these gorgeous sandals I had in the 90's, strappy, mid-heeled, something I could wear dancing or walking around town.'
